Tala Navami is an auspicious day
Tala Navami is an auspicious day observed in the Bhadra month (August – September) in eastern parts of India, especially in Bengal and Orissa. Tal Navami 2013 date is September 6. It is observed on the ninth day during the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Bhadra month. The day is highly auspicious to Goddess Durga.
Special pujas and rituals are held in Durga Temples on day. Some people also observe a vrat on the day. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga.
The day also marks the preparation for the Durga Ashtami and Durga Puja which is now just a month away.
